Generate revenue by selling advertising to local
businesses in the form of
image adverts and links.
We'll work with you to
recommend a pricing matrix for your Media Pack, but
suggest broadly £50
- £200 per month per Advert.
We'll provide Advert artworks and technical
specifications.
Develop relationships with local attractions and
organisations to secure section or
issue wide sponsorship of content.
This might take the form of logos for example,
placed
on regular items or througout your magazine.
We suggest £100 - £250 per month, or more.
Include local businesses, with maps and directions
in your directory. Upgrade enhanced 'Recommended'
entries and
provide them with messaging/promotional resources.

populate your magazine with 20 potential listings

£20 - £50 a month each for example.
We are developing relatinships with 3rd party
affiliates that can provide searcheable and bookable
accommodation, events and travel in your own app.
We've just signed a
deal with HotelLook - earn up to 5% of total
bookings made via your loacl magazine app!
These pages are by request.
Having been through our Discovery / Demo you will
have seen how easy it is to add content via our
Admin CMS.
We'll provide you with all the training and support
you need to get your first issue published, PLUS all
the support you need along the way.
A reasonably up to date PC or
Apple computer, with internet access and a browser.
It would be handy to have an image editing program
too like Photoshop, but if you don't there are
plenty of browser based versions (Photopea) that are
free and work well. That's it!
It will also be difficult to test your magazine
without a
reasonably up to date mobile phone too, but any
Android or IOS based device will be fine.
The admin CMS (Content Management System) Magazzn
uses to add content and messaging is mobile friendly
too.
If you have got this far you've probably decided
publishing your own local community magazine app is
an option for you - so you likely already have
thought through some of this.
If you can confidently publish content to LinkedIn
or a blog, or have experience with websites like Wix
or SquareSpace or WordPress you are already well
equiped. You won't ever need to 'code' anything,
but writing
short form articles and basic image editing
(cropping and sizing images for example) would be
the basic skills in terms of content.
You are best placed to understand your location
and what else is available across print, social
and digital - and this may well influence what
type of content you want to include.
We'd definitely suggest setting out an editorial
plan to provide you with a framework each month.
You can always add and adjust as you go.
Sample Editorial Plan for X Town 1. Frequency
Monthly, publishing date 1st weekend of each
month. 2. Cover
Image to reflect lead content, headlines of lead
articles PLUS regular features, lead sponsor
branding. 3. Letter from the Editor
Talk about the lead articles, any sponsor
mentions, general overview of what’s in the
issue and what to look forward to. Also include
any shout outs for future issues, content
requests etc. 4. Lead articles (2 - 4) about local
issues or opinions.
These should be between 500 - 700 words, and
include images and video. Content can be written
in-house, as well as provided by regular
contributors or third party providers
(syndicated content). 5. Regular features (500 words approx).
Create a list of regular articles you will use
each month - here are some examples; a. 'A Few Words With … ' -
short formatted Q&A
featuring a local independent business, same
questions each time. b. 'Local Hero' - feature
someone who is making
a significant contribution to the community. c. 'Unpopular Opinion' -
nothing like saying
something (slightly) controversial. d. General Interest - articles
of general
interest, PR from partners.
You can use 3rd party
external resources like ChatGBT to generate
content.
It's definitely advisable to rewrite the
content, checking any facts and making sure you
have the rights to publish.
We'll show you how you can use 3rd party
external resources for syndicated content - like
recipes, gardening tips and more.
We can provide content by request - please ask
us what is available.
Creating you own images presents no copyright
problems, just ensure you are saving them
optimised for web.
Dont't forget your subscribers will be
downloading any image to see it, so ensure it's
optimised.
If you are using third party images from other
sources, you MUST ensure you have the right to
use them. It is your responsibility.
Generally, it's good practice to give credit,
either on the page, or with reference and links
on the IMPRINT page for example.
Apart from working with illustrators and
photographers, you can of course also use some
of the AI generated sources, or some of the web
resources like Adobe Images, Stock Photos or a
free resource like PEXELS. Again -
always make sure you comply with copyright
laws, and give credit where it's due. NEVER
JUST COPY AN IMAGE FROM THE INTERNET AND USE
IT!
